Meet the fuzzballs that have stolen Julie's heart.

If you're lucky, you may just see them hanging out on the Shaggy Chic Spaw & Boutique floor!

Meet Julie! If you are part of the pet community in Utah, you have probably seen her organizing fundraisers, advocating for awareness and support of local rescue groups, and utilizing her knowledge to assist pet owners with all of their needs.

In 2001, Julie started working at a local dog kennel, eventually moving up to General Manager and staying until 2012, when she moved to a different kennel, managing that facility until 2019. After almost two decades in the business, Julie decided to venture out on her own, opening Shaggy Chic Spaw & Boutique in 2019. She continues to follow her passion for dogs in serving the Bountiful community for all their pet centered needs, is part of the Main Street Merchants supporting fellow small businesses and strives to support the rights of all animals by advocating spaying and neutering of pets and adopting from local rescue groups. Julie has a long history of adopting and fostering her own dogs, and currently lives with three of her own rescued furballs: Rosie, Stanley, and Wee Man.

During her career, Julie has been heavily involved in the advocacy of rescue animals. She has hosted dozens of adoption events and dog wash fundraisers over the years to raise money for Utah animal rescue groups such as Utah Friends of Basset Hounds, The Community Animal Welfare Society (CAWS), Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue, Utah’s Perfect Pointers, among many others. During her short time in Bountiful, Julie has already begun to support the local community by hosting an Australian wild fire fundraiser, raising nearly $3,000 to donate to the Australia Wildlife Rescue, as well as the No Empty Bowls event in response to COVID-19 and its effect on food supply for local animals by offering free pet food to those in need.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. She enjoys outdoor adventures such as camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, outdoor summer concerts, as well as giving new life to old furniture (and vintage campers!). Julie intends to keep serving the Bountiful community by providing excellent grooming services, products and a sense of welcome to all who step into Shaggy Chic Spaw & Boutique.
