The passionate founder of Shaggy Chic Spaw, boasting an illustrious 24-year journey in Utah's pet industry. From managing pet boarding and daycare facilities to organizing fundraisers for local pet rescue organizations and providing in-home pet care, her dedication to furry friends is unwavering.
In 2019, Julie faced the challenge of opening Shaggy Chic Spaw just two months before the onset of COVID-19. Undeterred, her goal was clear: to continue serving pet lovers across the Wasatch Front. Shaggy Chic Spaw not only offers grooming services, a DIY dog wash, and local pet treats but also serves as a solid workplace for the grooming community.
Driven by a mission to provide a place where employees take pride in their work and enjoy a fulfilling life, Shaggy Chic Spaw values its team. Generous compensation, positive morale, and a strong company culture are the cornerstones, ensuring a thriving and appreciated staff.
Beyond the business, Julie finds joy in obsessing over her beloved senior chihuahuas, Rosie and Stanley, and works hard to provide a generous sweater collection for them. Having fostered over 50 dogs from various rescue organizations, she is an avid supporter of spaying and neutering and adopting from local shelters. An adventurer at heart, she has an insatiable passion for camping, traveling, exploring, live music, sunsets, salt water, and restoring vintage campers.
Maya’s passion for animals and eye for beauty make her an invaluable part of the Shaggy Chic Spaw team. She got her start in dog grooming after fostering pets and discovering how much she loved helping dogs feel confident and look their best. With two years of grooming experience, Maya is always eager to learn and grow in her craft.
She especially enjoys working with German Shepherds, Maltese, and bully breeds, and she brings a gentle, positive energy to every appointment. Her mission is to make every dog look beautiful—and feel even better.
Maya shares her life with three beloved pups: a Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, and Pitbull. When she’s not at the Spaw, you’ll find her cooking or out on the trails with her pack. Shaggy Chic is lucky to have her upbeat personality and genuine love for every dog she meets.
Riley is a certified and talented groomer with over 4 years of experience making pups look and feel their best. Her favorite part of the job? Being surrounded by dogs all day and getting to know each one’s unique personality to provide thoughtful, individualized care. While she has a soft spot for grooming Yorkies, Riley truly enjoys working with all breeds and sizes.
Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, Riley prioritizes safety and comfort in every grooming session. She’s currently expanding her talents through continued education in creative grooming, always striving to grow her already impressive skill set.
Outside of work, Riley’s heart belongs to her two dogs—Odin, a spunky Jack Russell who never leaves her side, and Remi, her loyal wirehaired pointer who joins her on outdoor adventures like paddleboarding and camping.
With a deep passion for pets, a love of her craft, and a calm, confident energy, Riley brings dedication and joy to every Spaw Day at Shaggy Chic.

Lindsey brings over 12 years of grooming experience to Shaggy Chic and is a proud graduate of Petco’s Grooming Academy. With a special love for Poodle cuts, her true passion lies in helping every dog on her table look and feel their very best. For Lindsey, the highlight of her day is seeing the joy on a pet parent’s face when they pick up their freshly groomed pup.
Having worked in salons across the state and at SL County Animal Services, Lindsey brings a deep well of knowledge, compassion, and versatility to her craft. She’s also Pet First Aid and CPR certified, prioritizing the safety and comfort of every furry client.
At home, Lindsey is surrounded by a lively mix of pets—including her sassy Chihuahua, goofy Pit mix, a couple of cats, and even a snake! When she’s not grooming, you can find her unwinding with a paintbrush in hand, creating art inspired by the colorful world around her.
Lindsey’s dedication, skill, and genuine love for animals make her an invaluable part of the Shaggy Chic grooming team.
Our deeply valued receptionist of the Shaggy Chic team for 3 years. Desi's satisfaction comes from coordinating bookings, helping our groomers by juggling their schedules to accommodate our awesome clientele and showcasing a dedication to the well-being of furry clients and making the days easier for our human clients! She is simply the glue to our operations!
At home, Desi shares the space with Gia, a lovely Papillon, Hazel the cat, Snow the budgie, and four chickens.
Embracing an eclectic range of hobbies, from sewing and reading to skiing, woodworking, embroidery, baking, and gaming, Desi brings a diverse and vibrant energy to Shaggy Chic.

We've seen quite a few groomers in the area, and this is the best experience we've had for our dogs. They did a great job for both of our dogs (poodle and pointer/setter), they were so kind to my dogs, and very professional in their interactions. We will definitely be returning.
They did a great job with our pup! She gets nervous at the groomers but I felt comfortable leaving her in their hands to get plenty of love and patience. She looked beautiful after! Thank you so much!!
